Nine Pakistani Sports Stars Awarded Civil Honours for Outstanding Achievements


 The Government of Pakistan has announced this year’s Civil Awards to celebrate the outstanding achievements of nine exceptional athletes who have brought pride to the nation through their remarkable performances in sports.


Leading the honours is cricket icon Shahid Afridi, who will receive the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his legendary career and his pivotal role in Pakistan’s historic 2009 ICC T20 World Cup victory.


Also among the top awardees are record-breaking mountaineer Shehroze Kashif and celebrated equestrian Malik Muhammad Atta, recognised for their extraordinary dedication and accomplishments in their respective fields.


Other notable recipients include former women’s cricket captain Sana Mir, Paralympic gold medallist Haider Ali, kickboxing champion Shahzaib Rind, snooker star Muhammad Sajjad, squash sensation Hamza Khan, renowned shooter Mohsin Nawaz, and veteran tennis player Rashid Malik.


In addition to the athletes, distinguished sports journalist Abdul Mohi Shah has also been honoured for his valuable contributions to sports journalism in Pakistan.


These awards not only acknowledge the hard work and talent of these individuals but also serve as a source of inspiration for future generations of Pakistani athletes.
